Pre-Production and Broadcast

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 is the 2008 sequel to 2006’s Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion created by Studio Sunrise. Returning for R2’s production are series director Goro Taniguchi, head scriptwriter Ichiro Okouchi, and character designs from the all-female mangaka group CLAMP.

Currently scheduled to debut during the Spring 2008 season, its anticipated release is Sunday, April 6th, 2008 on the 5:00pm timeslot on both the Mainichi (MBS) and Tokyo Broadcasting Systems (TBS). This broadcast schedule has been noted for being the first time a sequel to a late-night anime has been given a regular primetime timeslot.
